Final Updates

 Hello Parents, 

Here are some final updates for you!

Monday June 20 is our School-Wide Year-End Assembly.  Students must be in formal uniform. 

Tuesday June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day - this is a casual day and students are asked to please wear an orange shirt. 

Wednesday June 22 is Pioneer Day.  This is a casual day however students are welcome to dress up in clothes from the past if you have some! Students will be engaging in a variety of activities throughout the day. 

Thursday June 23 is a casual day. 

Friday  June 24 is SPORTS DAY  - Each class at the school will be wearing a different colour.  PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD WEAR A WHITE SHIRT and casual bottoms. 

Monday June 27 is a casual day .

Tuesday June 28 is a casual day and the last day of school! 

Please email me if your child will be leaving school early, as they have many items they will be bringing home before that last day of school.

Heritage Park Field Trip

 Hello Parents! 
We have our final field trip of the year tomorrow to Heritage Park.  We will be going - so please dress your child to be outside in the rain with appropriate weather gear, umbrellas, jackets, etc.  Reminder that students need to be in formal uniform as we represent TLC and Le Roi Daniels. 

Please pack snacks and a lunch for your child - and a water bottle as well! 

Community Walk

 Students will be going on a community walk around the perimeter of Le Roi Daniel's School field this week, weather pending! :) We will look for signs of summer!

• Homework will be posted Monday March 28 upon student's return to class. 
• Students are bringing home their leprechaun traps, and a special note as well! 
• Please click on the link to Mrs. Hawkins MUSIC BLOG, and Click the "WILLY WONKA" link and have your child practice singing the Grade 1 songs for our performance coming up next month! April 21st! Save the Date!

Friday March 4

 Happy Friday! What a lot of snow we received this week! A friendly reminder to please send your child with appropriate winter gear, such as hats, mittens/gloves and snowpants :) 

I understand some parents have encountered glitches with homework assignments on Mathletics.   I believe the issue has been rectified on my end.  I sincerely apologize for any confusion! I of course understand if students were unable to complete the assigned Mathletic's tasks this past week. Thank you for your understanding! 

• Please see the additional information in the upcoming homework assignment about bringing in items to build leprechaun traps the week of March 14. 
• Please book a (virtual) parent-teacher conference - system opens Saturday morning at 8am. 
• We are visiting the Book Fair to browse the books on Tuesday March 8.  Students are able to bring in money for Thursday March 10 to purchase books.  Mrs. Taylor will also send an email with the online book fair store school link should you wish you purchase books that way.

Week Wrap Up - Friday February 11

• ! Monday is Casual Day - Valentine's Themed Colours - Red, Pink, Purple
• Bring your valentines if you made them on Monday to hand out to classmates ! 
• Next week is only school for 3 days - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday!
• Homework will be due February 25 
• 100th Day of School Celebrations February 25! (More info to come soon!) 

Friday January 28

 Wow! Here we are at the end of January! What a wonderful 3 weeks of learning! 

• Monday - NO SCHOOL - PD DAY 
• Fun Lunch for Panago has been posted! 
• Please send your child with 2 clean masks each day.  I have medical-grade masks available for them in the classroom as well. 
• Thank you for continuing to keep our classroom as safe as possible.  Please complete the AHS Daily Checklist, each morning before school.  Even if your child tests negative but has symptoms of cold/illness, they must stay home until they have no symptoms.  Thank you! 

This week, students:

• Reviewed and practiced addition facts to 20 through various warm ups, mad minutes, games and open-ended word problems
• Kicked off a new Science unit all about COLOUR! Ask your child about the primary and secondary colours! 
• Wrote a funny story about DJ Dog and a guitar playing pig!

• Library Books returned each Thursday please and thank you! 
• Thank you for continuing to monitor your child for any symptoms of cold/flu/illness and following the AHS Daily Health Checklist.  Thank you for helping to keep our class and students safe and stopping any transmission of illness.

 Hello Families!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  New homework has been posted.  Please remember to mark and check your child's homework.  I do not mark their homework but check if it has been completed and track complete/incomplete. 

Reminders:

- Please send 2 clean masks with your child each day 

- Virtual Parent Council Meeting this Wednesday 6:30pm

- FUN LUNCH CANCELLED! 

- January 31 is a PD Day  - no school!

Welcome Back! Hello 2022!

 Happy Monday!

Welcome Back to School! I was so happy to see each student this morning and hear all about their time on vacation! 

Reminders:

• Name Project - if you haven't already, please complete the name project (see previous post) and send in as soon as possible for sharing!
• Boxes - do you have any leftover boxes (cereal box, shoe box, etc) that we can have? Students will be creating a special Social Studies project starting next week and we are in need of boxes! Please send clean boxes with your child this week if you are able to! Thank you!
• Homework - new homework has been posted on the homework page - I will do a Friday check for all homework assignments.  
• Please do not send your child to school if they are unwell or have any symptoms, even if they have a negative test.  Please complete the AHS Daily Checklist and refer to Mrs. Taylor's welcome back email as well.  
• We have not received the rapid tests or medical masks from the government yet.  Please ensure your child comes to school wearing a new, clean mask each day and has at least 2 backup masks in their backpack as well.
